David Kaggwa is an international arbitrator, adjudicator, and construction lawyer with over 20 years of experience representing clients and acting as a neutral in resolving complex disputes involving major commercial, infrastructure, power, and construction projects.


Mr Kaggwa is the Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators – Uganda Chapter. He is the Director of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators – Kenya Branch. Mr Kaggwa is the Founder and Executive Director of Construction Law Institute, a think tank that unites professionals in the built environment.


David Kaggwa is a Senior Partner at Kaggwa and Kaggwa Advocates, a specialist law firm in Construction and Energy law practice. He is a visiting trainer of Construction Law at the University of Botswana and the Law Development Centre.


Mr Kaggwa holds a Master of Laws Degree in Construction Law and Arbitration from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), a Fellow of the Institute of Construction Claims Practitioners (FICCP), a Fellow of the Construction Law Institute (FCLI), a member of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), a member of the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation (USA) and a member of the Society of Construction Law (UK).
