Jacob C. Jørgensen is an international arbitration practitioner with more than 25 years of experience in the area of construction law. He was admitted to the Danish bar in 2003 and has worked in law firms in Switzerland, Denmark and in the UK in addition to inhouse positions held with some of the largest shipping and construction companies globally. His expertise expands from thermal power plant projects and offshore wind farms to large infrastructure projects, including in recent years the “Fehmarn Fixed Link Project” which is presently the largest immersed tunnel project in the world.
Jacob is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a CAS arbitrator and is listed as a Certified Adjudicator on FIDIC’s “President’s List”. He has served as an arbitrator under the ICC rules, the rules of the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the rules of the Danish Institute of Arbitration and in ad hoc arbitrations. Furthermore, he regularly serves as a DAB/DAAB member in connection with both onshore and offshore projects governed by FIDIC contracts.
Jacob holds an LL.M. from the University of Cambridge (Jesus College) as well as a BA degree and an MA degree in law from the University of Copenhagen. In 2024, he enrolled as a doctoral candidate at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. His PhD focuses on intellectual property rights and insolvency issues in the context of an EPC contractor’s procurement of long lead items for a construction project.
He regularly publishes within his areas of expertise and speaks at international conferences and as a guest lecturer at the University of Copenhagen. In 2023, Jacob joined FIDIC’s Task Group 14, which is drafting a new standard contract for offshore wind projects. In 2024, he was appointed vice chairman of the European Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. In 2025, he joined the Geneva-based boutique arbitration firm, Landolt & Koch as an of counsel.
