Jo Clarke has over 25 years of experience as an international construction disputes lawyer, working on complex international construction arbitration. She is an English-qualified solicitor advocate and partner at Howard Kennedy LLP in London, UK. She has also spent time working at law firms in Paris, France.


Jo has worked on disputes involving power and energy (including hydro and wind), civil engineering (including road, rail, tunnels and dams), mechanical and electrical engineering, process plant, complex buildings and infrastructure, and hotel development. Her work spans multiple jurisdictions across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.


Jo has particular expertise in the FIDIC forms of contract and often advises clients on issues and disputes arising out of contracts based on the FIDIC conditions.


Jo holds an LLB, LLM and a Diploma in International Arbitration and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb). She is co-author of FIDIC 2017 – A Practical Legal Guide and contributed the chapter on Claims Resolution Procedures in Construction Contracts in Global Arbitration Review's Guide to Construction Arbitration – Sixth Edition.
