Based in Singapore, John handles contentious engineering and construction matters for clients throughout Asia, with a particular focus on the energy sector.  John is recognised in leading publications for his strategic, pragmatic and results-driven approach.  He combines technical know-how with sector expertise to help clients solve problems as efficiently as possible.

John’s recent projects range from hydropower dams to mineral processing facilities to LNG regasification terminals.  With more than 18 years of experience in cross-border dispute resolution, he has taken a lead role in numerous arbitrations under diverse institutional and ad hoc rules, including ICC, SIAC, AIAC, LCIA and UNCITRAL.

In addition to representing clients in high-stakes arbitrations and adjudications, John helps clients develop proactive strategies to manage project execution risk.  He is also frequently called upon to assist with crisis situations and sensitive negotiations, including with local and national authorities and SOEs across the region.
