Yolanda is head of DWF's Construction and Infrastructure Dispute team across the UK and Ireland.


Yolanda is a specialist construction and engineering lawyer with over 15 years of experience in the fields of infrastructure, energy and construction. Geographically the focus of Yolanda's practice is London, Europe and Africa. She is particularly experienced in highly technical disputes with complex legal aspects. Yolanda has expertise in all major standard forms of contract, including JCT, NEC and FIDIC. Yolanda has advised owners and contractors and employers on a variety of projects. She has acted in arbitral proceedings internationally as well as in the UK Technology and Construction Court.


Yolanda's experience includes a year-long secondment to an international infrastructure group where she provided in-house advice on contract strategy, project risk and dispute avoidance. She also progressed claims from the pre-action phase through to award/settlement on multiple projects and therefore has a deep understanding of projects from a commercial perspective.


Yolanda regularly presents to various institutions at seminars and training workshops internationally. These have included, the British Tunnelling Society Young Members, the ICC, the Club de Derecho de la Construcción y la Ingeniería (CDCI), the Lagos Chamber of Commerce International Arbitration Centre, the African Arbitration Academy, Africa Construction Law and the Society of Construction Law UK.


Yolanda is a director of Africa Construction Law, a pan-African thought-leadership initiative operating across Africa and in the diaspora to promote construction law and practice in Africa. She is also on the committee of the Commercial Litigator's forum in London.


Yolanda is recognised by Lexology (previously Who's Who Legal) and has been annually ranked as a "Future Leader in Construction" since 2020. She has authored and co-authored publications and teaches on the ACL, HKA and Kings College London Africa Construction Law Academy course.
