Aarta is the Founding Partner of Chrysalis International Legal Advisors (Dubai) and currently serves as Vice-Chair of the International Bar Association’s International Projects Committee, Member of the ICC Global Commission on Arbitration and ADR, and Board Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UAE Branch). She is listed on the panels of leading arbitration institutions worldwide, including the ICC, SIAC, LCIA, AAA-ICDR, DIAC, SCCA, HKIAC, ADGM, VIAC, and ArbitrateAD.


She has been appointed in numerous arbitrations as chair, sole arbitrator, or co-arbitrator under the rules of the ICC, SIAC, DIAC, QICCA, LCIA, ADCCAC, AAA-ICDR, and ArbitrateAD, across seats in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and the United States. These cases have been governed by a wide range of national laws, including UAE (civil and DIFC), English, New York, Qatari, Kuwaiti, and Saudi law, and have spanned construction, infrastructure, energy, international trade, real estate, joint ventures, and shareholder disputes, often involving claims in the hundreds of millions.


Before establishing Chrysalis in 2016, Aarta practiced across multiple jurisdictions, including the United States and the Middle East. She is admitted to the New York Bar, the U.S. Supreme Court, and previously to practice before the DIFC Courts.


Aarta is a Chartered Arbitrator and accredited mediator (CIArb), frequently serving as both arbitrator and mediator in high-value commercial disputes. Her work has been recognised by numerous accolades, including Lexis Nexis Arbitrator of the Year (2024), Lawyer Monthly Mediator of the Year (2023), and recognition by Jus Mundi as one of the Top 5 Most Appointed Female Arbitrators in Construction Arbitration worldwide (2023). She is also listed as a Thought Leader, Construction (Lexology/Who’s Who Legal 2025) and recommended under Arbitration.


She has authored and co-authored publications on arbitration, construction, and mediation, and regularly speaks at international conferences and training programmes including for CIArb, DIAC, the IBA, GAR, and leading arbitral institutions.
