Dr Rouven F. Bodenheimer, FCIArb C.Arb bridges the gap between Common Law and Civil Law with more than 20 years’ experience in international construction projects.


Rouven is co-founder of BODENHEIMER, a law firm specializing on international dispute resolution. He specializes in conflict resolution and renders advice on corporate law and construction law in particular. Besides civil court proceedings he has been involved in numerous arbitration cases governed both institutionally (DIS, ICC, LCIA, SCC, DIAC, VIAC, DIA, FAI and CAS) as well as ad hoc arbitration. He has garnered significant experience as co-arbitrator, sole arbitrator, chairman and counsel in various arbitration proceedings both domestically and internationally. He is particularly experienced in disputes involving difficult technical issues and complex commercial aspects. His expertise lies in the fields of infrastructure, energy and construction.


Dr Bodenheimer lectures dispute resolution at multiple universities. He is a fellow (FCIArb) and Chartered Arbitrator (C.Arb) of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.


He currently serves as Vice-President of the German Arbitration Institution (DIS) and as Court Member of the Arbitration Court of the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC). For many years, he has been actively involved in the International Construction Projects Committee (ICP) of the International Bar Association (IBA) and a member on the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR


He is listed as leading construction lawyer in various rankings.
