Anzélle Ford, Associate and Dual-qualified international construction lawyer at Howard Kennedy, has been appointed as the representative for our rapidly expanding group of International Construction Tribunal Assistants (ICTAs) and is enthusiastically embracing our mission to support new arbitration professionals.

Following the successful completion of the intensive tribunal assistant training course led by world-renowned arbitrators Professor Doug Jones AO and Professor Janet Walker CM, Ms Ford steps into this leadership role to champion a talented cohort of newly certified assistants.

In addition to meeting most of our newly appointed ICTAs when they attended the inaugural training course in London last month, Anzélle has worked in the International Construction team at Howard Kennedy LLP for three years and prior to this, was part of the talented group of lawyers at Corbett & Co, led by our President, Edward Corbett. Our first ICTA, Svetlana Borisova, is also a Corbett & Co alumnus.

The demand for specialised expertise in international construction arbitration has never been greater. Tribunal assistants play a critical role in managing complex, document-heavy arbitrations efficiently. By handling administrative, logistical and procedural tasks, ICTAs can free up the arbitrator(s) to allow them to focus on resolving the more complex legal matters and procedural decisions without the burden of organising evidence or drafting standard documents. Consequently, this saves costs for parties and ensures a streamlined process.

The training program designed and delivered by Professors Jones and Walker ensured that all newly certified ICTAs possess the advanced procedural knowledge and practical skills required to excel in this demanding field.

As the designated representative for the International Construction Tribunal Assistants, Ms Ford will serve as the primary liaison between the ICTAs and ICAA Committee, as well as the wider international arbitration community. Her role will focus on fostering collaboration, promoting professional development opportunities, and ensuring that our established members become acquainted with those at the beginning of their arbitration career and will be happy to enlist their assistance.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Anzélle Ford and her fellow ICTAs who successfully completed the training course. Their dedication strengthens the infrastructure of international dispute resolution and ensures the continued excellence of construction arbitration globally.
